How we handle your privacy
Last updated . The short version: we run a light-touch analytics setup, we ask before we measure, and we never sell anything about you.
The one tool we actually use
The NAD Review leans on a single measurement tool: Google Analytics 4. When — and only when — you allow it, GA4 collects anonymized signals about how the site gets used: which pages you read, a coarse approximate location derived from your IP address (the full IP is not stored), your device and browser type, and the site or search that referred you. We don't ask you to make an account, and we don't collect names, emails, or payment details through ordinary browsing.
Measurement starts on arrival
This is a US site, so it runs on an opt-out basis. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with analytics storage granted from the moment the page loads, and the banner says so rather than asking first — GA4 gathers the anonymized signals described above from your first page view. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization stay denied at all times, so no ad cookies are written here and nothing feeds ad targeting.
Where your choice lives
Your decision is remembered on your device, not ours. We store it in your browser's localStorage under a key named cookie-consent, which makes the setting per browser and per device. GA4 sets its own cookies to tell one visit from the next; opting out deletes them.
What we do with any of it
The handful of signals we gather serve one purpose: understanding what's useful so we can write and organize the site better — which reviews land, where readers get stuck, whether a new guide is being found. That's the whole ambition. We do not sell your personal data, and we don't trade or rent it either.
Google's part in this
Because GA4 is a Google product, Google processes this analytics data as a third party under its own terms and privacy policy. Their handling of the data is governed by Google, not by us; we simply configure the tool and read the aggregate reports it produces.
Your say over your data
You're in control here. The button below turns analytics off for this browser, immediately and without a reload: Consent Mode goes to denied, GA4 stops identifying the session, and the Google Analytics cookies already here are deleted. To return to the default, clear this site's data — or delete the cookie-consent entry from localStorage — and reload. If you'd like to know what, if anything, we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email hi@thenadreview.com and we'll take care of it.
Not built for kids
The NAD Review is written for adults and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and certainly not from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, let us know and we'll delete it.
How long we keep things
We hold analytics data only as long as it's useful for the purposes above, in line with GA4's standard retention settings, after which it ages out automatically. Your on-device consent flag stays until you clear it.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over encrypted connections, and because we deliberately collect so little, there's not much to expose. That said, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute protection against every possible risk.
